Each Echo
This installation was commissioned by Television South West Arts Public Art Four Cities Project and was based in the main school corridor of St. Columb’s College Junior Boys Grammar School, Derry, 1990. The art works included details of photographs from the school photographic records, collected objects and images from individuals who were currently or had previously attended the school. Portraits of individuals contrast with photographs of statues of prominent hero figures from around Derry city. The work explored themes around heroism and the development of individual identity regardless of institutional and cultural influence.
